Toujane (توجان) is a mountain village, initially built by barbars around the 12th century. You can find it in the djebel Dahar at a height over 400 m. The village is right under a ksar’s ruines. The sightsee from the village goes from the Jeffara to the Gabes gulf.
Traditions have been perpetrated until now by old barbars’ offsprings, taking it at heart to have their ancestor’s way of life go on.
The village is about 25 km away from Matmata ( old city ), and about 38 km from Medenine.
